about

Keyboarchestra is a rhythmic and sonic concept, where layered voices weave into textures, and disparate rhythms resolve. Equally informed by minimalist classical music, West African polyrhythms, jazz, catchy melodies, video game music, and whatever else I have floating around in my head any given day, the music is expressed mostly through the synthesized sounds of my Prophet 12, though about 1/3 of the tracks were written on a Roland Juno-Di, a simple synth/ROMpler. All music was written and recorded in 2016.

Most of these pieces were written as part of the Song a Day For a Month (SAD FAM) community, an eclectic group of composers and songwriters that meets online, every day in the months of January and July. It is no small statement to say that this record would not exist without the energy, support, and inspiration of that community. Thanks to Elizabeth for always being encouraging, though the apartment is increasingly full of keyboards, cases, and cables.
